Bushnell Backtrack Personal Locator
A minimalist GPS unit that does one thing: after you park, you push a button to mark the spot and then hours later, when you emerge into the vast sea of cars at some mega shopping center outside a store opposite the side you went in, it guides you right back to your vehicle.
Sounds good to me.
2-15/16"Ø x 9/16"W.
Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included).
From the top: Pink, Grey, Green or Camo.

My hubby got me one of those full GPS units for the car once. I returned it for credit and got survival knives. If my brain is so hopelessly befuddled that I can't read a map or remember some simple landmarks to get to my car (like, how about the two-foot tall letter/number combinations painted on signs on the lampposts in nearly every large parking lot?) then I may as well enter the nursing home now and not come out.

Just convert the buzzers to electrodes and you're set.

Wait, but that's a minor use for this thing. If it is just a device that captures a location and can lead you back to it? Think of the applications for travel! I know that when I am in a new city I enjoy striking out in a random direction. But sometimes it can be hard to find my way back to where I am staying. Or say I am at the holiday outdoor shopping plaza thing in Union Sq. A certain booth has a gift and I want to buy it but first I have to meet a friend for lunch and grab money and do STUFF. So I tag the location. Now I can't forget what booth it is.
This is an INCREDIBLY usefull device!

I lose my car all the time...I'm thinking this would be great for things like finding basecamp when hiking through the Appalachians, or sending it via mail to places I want to visit, having someone there set it and return and getting on the bike and finding backroads that lead me there. Heck, if you are Muslim you could set it to Mecca and ALWAYS know where to bow...tons of ideas.
Hell, we all know I'm just going to set it before heading out of the hotel for drunken rampages so that I can crawl my way back in the morning. Joe -- any way to get one of these over to your friends at Make? I'd love to see them come up with a hack that embeds electrodes that shock me in the direction I need to be walking so I could be barely conscious and still stumble back and make it to the general vicinity. Maybe add a breathalyzer so I know when I haven't had enough as well...that is always a problem...leaving before you are sufficiently liquored up...generally I can tell because 2 guys are getting their eyes blackened as they are escorting me to the door, but sometimes I leave on my own only to realize DAMN, I'm still sober!

60 bucks to find your car? How about putting the noggin to some use? In fact, just hand over the money. I shall tell you where you parked the vehicle.
