bookofjoe Challenge (new feature): 'I WISH TO FIND AN ENGLISH SPEAKING CHINESE PERSON'
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The comment above from Australian Neville Ford came in at 4:34 a.m. today.
I just saw it (it's now 11:09 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009) as I looked through the overnight bag.
Nearly four years ago (on May 23, 2005) I put up a post headlined "By 2025 the number of English-speaking Chinese is likely to exceed the number of native English speakers in the rest of the world."
Word up down under apparently travels by Pony Express.
But I digress.
Mr. Ford read the post and apparently perceived dissonance between its subject and his everyday surroundings, even with China's pretty much having converted the entire Australian continent into a raw materials mine for its voracious industrial machine.
He stated, in no uncertain terms, "I WISH TO FIND AN ENGLISH SPEAKING CHINESE PERSON."
Let's find out just how far bookofjoe extends into the fabric and fiber of the wired world, shall we?
This post is going up at 12:01 p.m. today, and will shortly be linked via an automatic Tweet to Twitter, as is each and every post, by some sort of techie magic performed by Phillip Winn, my wizard of connectivity.
I want to know from Mr. Ford —whose email is nevilleford17@yahoo.com.au — when "AN ENGLISH SPEAKING CHINESE PERSON" contacts him.
Come on, let's see how good you are.

Update at 12:23 p.m. today (post time + 22 minutes): I emailed Neville Ford at the address he put down (above) to let him know I'm on it but a minute later Google returned with a "Undeliverable" message.
No problem.
I put my crack research team on the case and before you could say Bob's your uncle they returned his Facebook page, picture (below)
and all.
He has 19 friends, including a fellow named Jack Liu and a woman named Fiona Tsan.
I guess they're not Chinese, though their names are.
No matter.
I sent Mr. Ford a message via Facebook to let him know both I and joehead nation (global version) are on it.
Stay tuned.

Update at 12:54 p.m. today (post + 53 minutes): Neville Ford's request just went up on my Twitter page (below).
Let's see if that does the trick.

Dontpublishmyname, Neville Ford posted his email address and photo on public websites, Joe did not.
FWIW, there are a good number of Chinese students at UVa who could help Mr. Ford...if they wanted to.

So Joe, are you REALLY a recruiter for that secret underground Spy Kids-esque CIA for children?
I bet you help the illegal organ trade as well.

Are you sure you can publish his email address and his photo?
