Now pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates, from Uttar Pradesh, India... Rinku Singh
Along with right-hander Dinesh Patel, southpaw Singh is one of two 20-year-old pitchers who debuted with the Bradenton Pirates, Pittsburgh's Gulf Coast League minor league league affiliate, last Saturday, July 4, 2009, according to David Biderman's July 6, 2009 Wall Street Journal story, "... tossing an inning each and becoming the first players from India to partake in an MLB-affiliated game. They signed with the Pirates organization last November after impressing MLB scouts with their success in the Indian game show 'Million Dollar Arm.'"
Can you imagine the electric effect of either pitcher making it to The Show on India?
They'd be as big in their country as Yao is in his.
Talk about a huge untapped market....
