Donut Burger — Mmmm, bacon

It's the new new thing (above), "consisting of a bacon cheeseburger with a buttered, grilled and glazed doughnut standing in for a bun," wrote Tom Leonard in an October 6, 2009 Telegraph story about the surprise hit of the just-concluded Big E Fair in Massachusetts.

"Organizers of the Big E... said visitors bought around 1,000 Craz-E burgers each day of the fair's 17-day run."

According to fair's website, "the glaze smooths over the burger and oozes into a foreign but delicious combination with the crisp of the bacon."

A 'Loaded Bagel'!

This is an old favorite that I first encountered at an oilfield cafeteria about fifteen years ago. It looks nearly identical to the one in the photograph. They sold them 24-7, and still do today. .)

Toasted buttered bagel, eggs, bacon, cheese(optional) made this a delicious breakfast.

I make them a few times a year, just not too often. (I like a lighter breakfast than when i was a kid ;)

Sorry (to my body), if I was vacationing where that had these (or it was at a fair in my backyard) I would grab one up and finish it with a drink just as sinful!
