Evernote โ€” One cloud to rule them all

Move over, Google: here comes a pure cloud play.

Wrote Claire Cain Miller in a November 16, 2009 New York Times "Bits" blog post: "The basic form of the service is free. People can store about 20,000 notes, 270 Web clips, 400 camera phone pictures and 39 audio recordings."

This is a pretty cool service...I've been using it for classnotes -- as well as keeping things like copies of my passport and other official docs (sorry, important numbers cut out for specific reasons and kept elsewhere, but enough for *ME* to at least get in the door of an embassy if I REALLLLLLY needed).

Things I wish it had, and would be willing to pay for...there use to be a service where you could photograph a whiteboard or documents and it would automatically edit the contrast as well as de-skew things to a right perspective (I think that service was actually listed here at some point...but I can't find it anymore).

Right now, it is cool, but too limited for me...maybe someday I'll actually pay for it...right now, the free service is good enough...
