BehindTheMedspeak: wUnderGlow — Wheelchair Running Lights

Gene Emmer wrote:

wUnderGlow... clips to a wheelchair seat sling (or anywhere that there is a 1/4 inch or less ridge to clip to). The clip is fully rotatable so the light can point in any direction.

A wUnderGlow kit comes with two different light heads, one white steady light and one multi-color flashing light. At night the flashing light puts on a great show. You have to see it to appreciate it. There is a video demo [top] on the website which will give you an idea. wUnderGlow weighs only 1/3 oz (10 grams) so you hardly know it is there.

There is almost nothing in the way of night time safety equipment for wheelchair users on the market. Some wheelchair users use simple bike lights, but they are usually big and bulky and usually are fixed to the wheelchair. Most wheelchair users use nothing at all and that can be dangerous. Our products are amongst the first products for nighttime safety and unfortunately, few wheelchair users know that they are there.

That's no onion — that's an Easter egg

Screen shot 2010-01-26 at 7.31.18 PM

At least, that's what I thought  when I looked twice at my new iMac's screen just before quitting Address Book.

I'd noticed since I got the machine last year that the screen went dark when you prepared to quit an open application, but for the first time last evening I actually looked at the darkened screen (above) instead of the dock.

And lo and behold, there's a layered gradation of color from the inside out.

Stylish and cool and so Apple.

Me love you long time.
