Shauna Richardson's Crochetdermy
From Dazed Digital :
crochets these life-size animals."
To me the British artist's figures
are apt to veer suddenly
into the
art world equivalent
of the "uncanny valley"
as originally characterized
by roboticist
Masahiro Mori
in 1970.
I like that.
A lot.

Yay! Crocheting is finally getting some publicity!

Awesomely beautiful work, but in honoring the artform, it condones it, much like faux fur. I'd rather have a lovely mushroom, or a purse. Sorry.
