I'm reading your posts over the last week or so (been on vacation with no access) and I have to say that I've found myself returning to this post several times to take another look.

Beautiful bird, and an amazing photo (although I agree with someone else that I'd love to see one live, in the sunlight)

Saw some cool starlings in Africa long ago. Agreed that they give starling a better name.
