Outdoor Shower

By Inga Sempé.

Wrote Nick Vinson in the June 5, 2010 Financial Times, "The work of Paris-based Sempé is featured often on these pages because her current output is worthy of the attention. It is always straightforward, pleasing and usually clever."

"The Delta shower... is proof in point. The stainless steel structure sits over its own teak slatted base so all you need is a flat surface and a garden hose – no plumbing or plumbers required."

I'll take one.

$2,475 a bit rich for your blood?

That's why I put up the close-ups above and below.

Take a trip to Home Depot, then make your own.

Ahhh...finally something I know about. I've been showering outside from April through October for a couple of years now.

I splurged and had a plumber put in hot and cold water w/ a shower on the back of my house. The floor is flagstones over pea gravel. The enclosure is 4x4s, 2x4s and bamboo.

It's home to most of my plants, including three big ficus trees.

Here's a link to a post about the latest updates:

I love the shower. Yesterday I looked up in the tree just above the shower when I heard an incessant bird call. Turns out it was a hawk with a 6' wing span. And I live in the middle of a city of 1 million people.
