"A Cracker Jack Story" — by Joe Peach
Over the weekend I received the following email from Joe Peach:
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Joe,
For months I have been going to a small local store noticing "The Original Cracker Jack" at the check out.
So, I broke down and went for a childhood treat (I really wanted the prize).
At home I got comfortable, and started writing my novel ;-) when out of the corner of my eye the treat looks back at me.
I open it, dump it on a paper towel and find the prize.
Yes, that's it, paper slightly bigger than a postage stamp!
I still open it with anticipation...
Think that was bad? I got 5 (count them, FIVE) peanuts (the phone is in there for scale).
So I played with the prize
(the mouth opens and closes as you bend the sides) as I consumed everything in 3 handfuls.
Disillusioned I broke out the Wasabi Peas.... YES!!!!

Joe - thanks for the review....
Jo said it all.
Me, I'm a toasted almond-smoked pimento kind of guy (home made). Still, I used to love Cracker Jack (and, Beaman's Pepsin gum. Dad always had a pack of Juicy Fruit in his suit jacket pocket).
