I liked it better when they were called Hobos. Homeless or Bums does not tell the whole story.

I remember growing up 300 feet from a RR tracks.

As kids we played on and around the tracks often.

We met hobos (bums, our parents called them), and most were decent.

We would occasionally see their carvings (code) in fences, gates, trees and elsewhere.

I'd love to hear the approach and going of a train nowadays!
