Like the first poster, I had a pharmacist mention the problem I was having with an over the counter medicine might have been because I was breaking it down to absorb too much too fast than had been designed. I mostly feel it's okay for vitamins and herbs.

Are most pills formulated these days to have a protective coating that ensures that it dissolves at a specific rate?

Wouldn't this be bad for the person taking it? I mean, my alcohol comes in a specific format to keep me from drinking too much too quickly...why shouldnt this?
