Phillips Collection iPhone App

Just released on the first of this month, it features "a fully searchable mobile collection that takes advantage of touch screen technology to magnify artworks to the brushstroke."

There goes the day.

Free, the way we like it.

I highly recommend a visit to the Washington, D.C. museum;

it's based in what was once founder Duncan Phillips' home, and is replete with wonderful pictures in a warm, intimate setting.

Note added 11:48 a.m. Saturday morning, December 11, 2010: This app is designed for the iPhone. It will appear on the iPad as an iPhone-sized window which may be then expanded, with a concomitant loss of resolution. Thanks to Richard Kashdan for pointing this out. Too bad, as this app really would benefit from iPad optimization. Maybe the next version.
