Odd, here in lovely downtown Germany,one can buy shower fittings that have a thermostat/temperature limiter built in.
Turn it on, optimal temperature every time.
I have yet to burn myself grievously nor freeze certain body parts off - even in winter.

I largely agree that the chart is good, with the possible carping that the "useful" range on the "as they are" chart is too large. I find that vigorous scrubbing causes enough communicated vibrations to jiggle the controls out of the acceptable part of the spectrum, requiring multiple manual re=adjustments.
