United States of Gastronomy Map
Inspired by a visit to California earlier this year, London-based graphic artist and book designer Lucy Stephens created this map.
An interview with the artist on LAweeklyBlogs offers more about how the map came to be.
She remarked, "I suppose I've been quite surprised by how much people have engaged with it. I've had a few people telling me their life story through food — 'I grew up in Mashed Potatoes but now I live in Popcorn etc.' which is quite funny."

It is a bad thing to know certain things about foods. Bagel, Pastrami & Pretzel are 100% NYC. Those are Good Things (TM Martha (the felon/billionaire) Stewart).
The Bad Things include "Spring Cashew Chicken" in Missouri http://bit.ly/kEbiN6 ; an abomination on a par with Poutine http://bit.ly/2cwMYv
I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me ... and she was fond of the Springfield abomination - especially where the "sauce" was French's Brown Gravy (apparently, the norm where a plant that manufactures the stuff is located in Springfield, Mo.).
Eat neither Poutine nor Springfield Cashew Chicken unless you are tired of living...... and if a person tries to introduce you to either: RUN!
