Beatrice's crazy hat — Episode 3: SOLD — for $131,000

Constant readers will recall that Philip Treacy's remarkable chapeau (above), created for her to wear in the Royal Wedding, made its debut here on on May 6, followed up with a May 15 report that the hat had been placed on the auction block.

As of May 13 it was up to $13,128, and "Princess Beatrice's ridiculous Royal Wedding hat" Facebook page had 141,004 fans.

Now comes today's news that the hat brought $131,648 on its eBay auction, the money going to benefit UNICEF.

I understand that the money goes to UNICEF - what I don't understand is where it comes from.
