Human Tooth Rings

That's different.

From WTFoodge: "Have you ever wanted to wear teeth around your fingers? Maybe you wanted to bite someone AND punch them at the same time? Now you can."

From the website of their creator, Melbourne-based silversmith Polly van der Glas:

All works are handmade with sterling silver and human teeth.

Teeth are locally donated and sterilized.

Teeth are particularly difficult to come by, so any donations are gratefully accepted.

Her Etsy shop is here.

It seems to me that the market for custom-made pieces like this, along with earrings and pendants made from baby teeth, to be worn by mothers, sisters, aunts, grandparents, and the original owners of the teeth, is unlimited.

Whatever goodness has been equated with the tooth fairy,

this pearly ring takes away.

So, um why would anyone donate their teeth to someone who makes them for a vanity item and profits from them. Donation implies helping the world in some way. And I dunno Joe, but I wouldn't really want to wear my kids baby teeth on a ring, not sure if I know any mothers who would. I have heard of turning the first lost tooth into a necklace (the tooth set in gold), but I never wanted one. Yes, the teeth are safely put away, not sure what I will do with them. I heard of one woman whose mother in law gave her the husband's baby teeth as a wedding present and she was rather creeped out. Really, teeth....ew.
