Sunday at the movies: "Beat The Devil"

In honor of what would've been director John Huston's 105th birthday, Open Culture on Friday featured his 1953 classic, co-written with Truman Capote.

The full-length film stars Humphrey Bogart, Jennifer Jones, Gina Lollobrigida and Peter Lorre.

Free, the way we like it.

Garlic Rocker

From the website:

This elegant device makes cooking with fresh garlic an effortless and robust experience.

Press the tool down with a rocking motion and the design's natural leverage crushes garlic instantly.

Pushed up through the mesh of holes, the garlic is held in the basin of the tool, ready to be scraped into your pan.

The one-piece design makes cleaning a snap — no struggling to get the last bits of garlic out of hinges and crevices.

Bonus: Stainless steel has natural odor fighting properties, so cleaning the tool actually helps remove any residual garlic odor from your hands.

Designed in London by Richard & Anthony Joseph.

7.25"L x 1.5"W x 0.75"H.

Stainless steel.

$15 (garlic not included).

No parking zones in Vilnius now enforced by tanks

Vilnius (Lithuania) Mayor Arturas Zuokas tired of expensive cars being parked illegally on the streets of his city.

Rather than bother ticketing or booting them or having them towed, he commandeered a tank and had the driver roll right over a Mercedes S-Class, then greeted the perplexed owner by telling him, "Next time, park your car legally."

Please, nobody forward this to Michael Bloomberg, there's no telling what he might do in response.
