Should I renew bookofjoe.com — or let it expire on July 9, 2012?

Screen Shot 2011-09-06 at 1.20.52 PM

Above, a notice that appeared in my inbox this morning.

I've got 10 more months before my ownership of bookofjoe.com expires.

Worth the $34.99 to renew it for a year?

Or should I opt for five ($114.95)?

FunFact: As some have speculated, the inspiration for the domain name was the Book of Job — not Jobs.

Renew. But don't do $35.

$10 per year is the norm for domain names.

Yes, please.

Why are you even asking? ;-)

Please renew! Got to have my daily dose of Book of Joe.

Definitely renew but there are cheaper options than registering your domain name with Network Solutions.

Funny - I just did an NS Lookup and it says your domain doesn't expire until 2017 - guess you went ahead and renewed eh? Good news!!

Joe, why are you teasing these nice people?

you cannot not continue. what will we do without our daily shot of joe?

I second the recommendation of moving the domain to bluehost.com. When you transfer they will charge you $10 for extending the registration for one year. I just moved my main domain over to them this weekend and it was pretty simple. Their support and cpanel were easy to work with. $35 for renewal is definitely a rip off.

Keep things as they are :)

I'll take over the domain and lease it back to you for a reasonable sum.

I always thought the inspiration came from a cup of Joe - being the time it takes to consume both are the same.

Bluehost.net has been good to me for a while. $10/yr Domain registration.

If you don't renew, I might actually get some work done.

I'm all about the value, so I'd opt for the 5 year renewal.

And yeah, keep the good stuff coming!

Definitely renew and keep on publishing! But I'd like to see some recommendations here from people other than me, about what might be a better domain registrar to use. It think that there are some reliable ones that are much cheaper than Network Solutions. For example, I've used 1and1.com for a number of years and they're pretty reasonably priced. I think it's up to about $10/year now.

Opt for 20 more years, after that I won't know if I'm

on BOJ or BOA (Book of Alzheimers)!

you better! don't go anywhere!

Posted by: Jeff | Sep 6, 2011 4:30:49 PM

I've only ever read you by way of RSS, but thought I'd stop in to say "Yes, please renew" and "$34.99 for one year is a ripoff. Transfer that thing."

And then I'd plug directnic.com or register.com. I use both.
