Gray Cat's new favorite nap spot

1

A couple weeks ago I noticed she'd taken to dozing atop my "tower of [TV] power" — aka subwoofer + Blu-ray player + DirecTV box + Comcast cable box.

The way I'd stacked them, only about half the cable box was in front of the plane of the TV.

I asked my crack Gray Cat All-Access All-Amenities team to reconfigure the equipment so she'd have a more comfortable napping spot atop the toasty box, since as it was she could only fit her torso onto the box, resulting in all four paws sticking out over the sides and whatnot.

The resulting rearrangement (top) lets her wedge her little butt between the cable box and the bottom of the TV screen, with the base of the TV and one of the speakers providing support for her rear paws.

Sweet.

I find it wonderfully relaxing seeing her there, whether I'm across the room or on the couch watching TV.

All "yes, but..."s are valid.
So, you could get her one of these
http://www.dogbedsandcrates.com/products/sherpa-puff-ball-cat-bed.html
and let her sink down into it. Every feline I've ever had loves the one I got years ago. Cover is washable, too.

If that's not enough for her, you could get one or two of these pink plastic microwave discs,
http://www.amazon.com/Pet-Supply-Imports-SnuggleSafe-Heating/dp/B00008AJH9/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320116275&sr=8-1
stick them nice and hot under the bed, and the heat-seeking feline will have a totally safe, super-warm place to hunker down whether you're in the house or not.

Of course, if you buy all that for a cat, it will ignore the set-up with a vengeance until it can't stand it anymore, but it will succumb. They cannot resist the warm, kitties.

Reconfigure G.Cats's space with an Aquarium Heater (Amazon and surely eBay has them.

Nothing is too great an effort to make a cat comfortable.

Joe,

I always hate to be the party pooper, but those vents are on your electronics for a reason, and it's to allow heat to dissipate into the room, instead of heating up the inside of your cable box or whatnot.

It's fine if you want to allow grey cat to continue lounging there, but please don't come crying to us when your home electronics start having issues(die) because they are overheating...

On a side note, PDR as a TV stand = Best Use Ever.

Asked Flautist in a comment last evening, "Where does Gray Cat stand (besides on her Tower of Power) on the "Gray/Grey" controversy?"

Her response: "Græy Cat."

That's what cats are good for: to show you what the good life looks like.

Hello again Grey Cat!

Our cat does the same exact thing. I could have duplicated your picture with a calico cat.
