Naoto Fukusawa Ballpoint Pen with Ghostly Stamp

From the website:

We discovered this little gem at an exhibition on contemporary Japanese design in Milan a few years ago.

Glistening like a jewel, it was displayed in a sparsely populated case alongside candy-colored stamp pads.

It was quintessentially Japanese, the idea of treating a pen with such reverence, and we fell in love.

But this is no ordinary pen.

The design updates the ancient tradition of hanko (a personal seal used for official documents) by combining it with a modern ergonomic writing instrument.

Conceived by the renowned Naoto Fukasawa for Shachihata, the world's leading stamp producer, the pen is brilliantly lacquered, flawlessly detailed, and perfectly balanced.
