Ning Network says "sayonara" to bookofjoe — why aren't I more upset?

6

Maybe because when I got the takedown notice (above) yesterday afternoon, I couldn't even remember what Ning was?

How's that for a start?

Even after reading the notice a couple times, I still couldn't figure out what it was.

So I had a look at bookofjoe.ning.com — so can you!

Not a whole lot going on there.

So I guess I'll shrug and move along.

You got Ninged!

Back in the early days of 2008 Ning, Inc. managed to acquire $60 meg in venture capital and set about creating a new social networking operation built on the same plan as Charles Ponzi's famous investment system. As of 2009 Ning had burned through their VC and were garnering quite a few negative investment reports. See, http://www.chartingstocks.net/2009/03/ning-exposed-tech-company-ning-scams-its-clients/

If the message is correct and you bought into Ning's proprietary network at some point in time, you apparently spent so little that it hasn't been in the forefront of your mind on those marathon runs. Good of you to post these little pieces - any company that can find $60meg laying around and spends all of it - isn't going to think twice about ripping off the general public.

Sounds like they might have been trying to bait you into trying/buying and maybe never had anything to do with you in the first place.

Well, damn. And I was enjoying it so.
