Makes perfect sense for outdoor activities. I've been looking for one.

Duracell makes a battery powered charger that would be GREAT but most of the time, you are either using disposable batteries, or trying to figure out how to keep the rechargable ones charged (and not losing them).

So yeah...outdoors is great...the one featured here was designed to catch the idiots that want to seem eco but not actually do anything to protect the environment (and in fact, are detrimental to the environment in doing so).

How about this alternative: http://store.bruntonoutdoor.com/portable-power/foldable-solar-panels/explorer2-trade/

So it creates solar power precisely in a place where you are guaranteed to have power? That's awesome and totally not wasting resources creating something far more inefficient and the unit cost of creating this device as well as the environmental cost are mitigated by connecting it 3 feet away from where arguable one of the cleanest power that an individual has access to is already plugged in!!!
