399-Button Remote

From the New York Times: "Art. Lebedev Studio in Russia created the concept of a 20-inch-long remote with 399 buttons, one for each channel. It didn't fly."

I don't see why not: my Pioneer TV remote has 49 buttons and those are just the ones that are visible — there are 18 more under a flip-up panel.

My DirecTV remote has 46 buttons and my Comcast remote has 53.

Add 'em up, that's a total of 49 + 18 + 46 + 53 = 166, almost halfway to the über-remote pictured up top.

I love that thing. Of the "who knows how many" buttons on my 3 remotes, I use and understand about 12 of them. Give me those on a separate gizmo, integrate this into a recess on the coffee table, for when I'm just channel surfing, and (as you like to say) Bob's your uncle.

Best remote ever, my square Roku remote. Too bad it doesn't have volume.

Even the newer rounder remote is nicer than my Logitech Harmony remote, and that's already pretty sweet.

I need that for speed dialin' my boyfriends. HA. More like my bill collectors.

Mine has "off", "on", "vol" and "channel." I like it.

But it is really just a 108 button remote. There are just buttons for 100, 200, 300.
Now if it really had 399 buttons, THAT would be a BIG remote.
