"Charlottesville is the smartest city in America"

If that's the case, trickle-down theory hasn't yet applied to yours truly, still standing at the station waiting for the cluetrain that came through some time ago.

From yesterday's Charlottesville Daily Progress: "Charlottesville is the smartest city in America, according to a Wednesday news release from a California-based company that offers an online brain training program."

"Charlottesville topped a list of 25 metropolitan areas in new rankings released by Lumosity."

The Luminosity brain games (on which the results are based) are interesting and fun. For a price, about 5 bucks a month you can subscribe, but they offered a free trial and yeah, the ones I played had me on my toes. They asked for my birthday, and education level, so I don't know how much was customized, but I do wonder if my kids could play, while whiling away the summer, playing video games and forgetting everything they learned during the year. Hmmmmm.

In these times I'd expect that UVA paid a pretty price to top the rankings. Caltech in Pasadena, Hahvahd in & MIT are both located in Cambridge, Stanford (get rich U) all beat the mouth-breathers resident in most of the top 25.

I'll give UT & Austin a pass - but no mention of Ames, IA? Anchorage as # 3?

This list is all about money: the amount paid to make the top 25.

At this point I'd place bets on Jerry Sandusky beating out the scouts as the best influence on children!

It's money that matters.

Blacksburg, VA is not even on that list...

I cry foul.
