Lampshade with bottom feature

F

Above, the bedside reading lights at my hotel.

I've never before seen lampshades with the base covered to eliminate glare for the reader below.

Genius.

It's a Bayesian thing, wherein you keep reiterating until you finally start to feel better.

Tasty!

Wrote Rusty Blazenhoff on Laughing Squid, "For Halloween, Nova Scotia-based Suzie Ridler of Suzie the Foodie created a 'Ghostbusters'-inspired recipe for Ectoplasm Slimed Popcorn. It consists of 'old school' popcorn topped with a green slime made of melted white chocolate, heavy cream, and green food coloring paste."

The joy of running nauseated for 9+ miles

Bbb

Above, me at the finish of last Sunday's Charlottesville Half-Marathon, previously described in a post this past Tuesday.

Suffice to say that it was one of my all-time Top 10 Worst Running Experiences.

Anyhoo, all's well that ends well — or at least ends, in the case of that wretched race.

I crossed the finish line at 2:32, long after I'd turned off my watch at the end of mile 4 when the big-time stomach upset started, to intensify over the next mile to the point that I was expending more effort anticipating a quick bolt off the course to either upchuck or download — or both, I couldn't tell which was more likely — than I was running.

But neither happened, so I just resigned myself to finishing out the last 8+ miles in whatever fashion I could.

If it looks like my eyes are rolled back up into my head — IT'S BECAUSE THEY WERE.

That's the way I roll.

Heh.

But I digress.

You know what?

Race day was a great day.

Why?

Because it perfectly epitomized my favorite motto: "The hard way is the best way. Not because it is the best way—but because it is the hard way."

If that makes sense to you, we could be friends.

If it doesn't, no worries: we might still be able to be friends.

Bamboo Radiator Cat Bed

41302

Gray Cat would look awfully good in this.

I'm very tempted.

Your thoughts before I take the plunge?

N.B. I have no radiators in my house — will that be a problem?

Wrote Rusty Blazenhoff on Laughing Squid, "The Jolly Moggy Bamboo Radiator Cat Bed is a round cat bed made from bamboo slats and eco-fiber that latches onto a home's wall radiator. It doesn't appear to be available to purchase from the United States. It is, however, available at Amazon UK."

£22.19.

bookofjoe World Tour 2012 hits Pittsburgh — and the view is spectacular!

Photo

Above, out my hotel window a moment ago.

We'll be in town through Sunday, October 28, so if you want to stop by and say hello or anything else that's on your mind, email me.

FunFact: If any fan(s) do(es), I'm very likely to post a picture of us right smack here on bookofjoe.

Fame and fortune are just one mouse click away.

Cheap at twice the price.

Think about it.

Fair warning.

On Amazon* I'm a star

222

Long story short: a month ago Amazon started offering up to the hour eBook author rankings.

I got all excited about finding out just how popular I am.

Above, my Amazon Author Rank since inception date (September 28, 2012).

As any fool can plainly see I'm doing great — making steady progress at flank speed.

But wait — there's more!

Below, my proceeds and sales by week.

22

Hmmm.

Maybe I better stay with my day job just a little longer.

Real soon now, though....

Not to ignore the real world of ink stained wretches, Amazon was kind enough to offer a snapshot (below)

2222

of just how well I'm doing in the paper world.

Just as great.

My future's so bright, I better turn out the lights — 'cause the party's over.
