Why not run in boxers?

91ftYE9Ox7L._SL1500_

Last night while running on my treadmill in boxer shorts the thought occurred to me that I must be nuts to pay $30-$40 for a pair of Nike running shorts when I can buy 4 pairs of perfectly comfortable boxer shorts (top) for $14 (that's $3.50 apiece for those who don't have a calculator handy).

Is there an ordinance prohibiting running in public in boxers?

I mean, could I be arrested right here in friendly Charlottesville, Virginia this coming Saturday morning when I run a 5K starting at 8 a.m. at Clark Hall at UVA wearing boxers instead of my usual ultra-technical wicking shorts?

We're gonna find out.

Stay tuned.

One main reason why I suggest NOT running in boxers especially to anyone over the age of 25 is that you don't want your testicular region to be down to your knees by the time you are 70. As a woman, this a personal outcry to NOT run in boxers...for our sake. :)

Just remember not to wear your slippers at the same time.

You only want two of those three legs showing, Joe.

A safety pin may well be just that.

Just remember to "mind the gap", or maybe more accurately, "mind the flap."
