Found it on tap this weekend (crazy rare, I agree). It is an awesome beer, I've had it a few times now, but only since I've moved to California.

Pliny the Elder (and its sister beer, Pliny the Younger) are double and triple IPAs (respectively) from the Russian River Brewing Co. They are quite rare, to the point that my beer nerd friend and co-worker considers Pliny the Elder one of his White Whale beers--which he would like to drink before he dies, but realistically doesn't expect to get a chance to more than once or possibly twice in his lifetime.

Having that bottle opener on your keychain is likely to garner massive cred amongst the Beererati set.

I'd rather have a free bottle in front of me than a pre-frontal lobotomy :)
