WEIRD — Oman's Thursday Magazine

1363708250

My favorite cover design of 2013 is the March 21 issue of Oman's Thursday Magazine.

Even after I twigged and realized it wasn't a really cool Wired cover, it still made me uncomfortable.

I like that in a magazine cover.

In fact, in pretty much anything — or anybody.

A work of art.

Waste Less Chair

WLC01

Wonderful.

WLC02

From IGNANT.de:

WLC03

"The Waste Less Chair from [Budapest-based] architecture uncomfortable workshop was born of the idea to reuse the waste remaining after the processing of timber logs to into wooden beams."

WLC04

"The chair can be used in the garden or at home, as a rocking chair or as a chair with a leg rest. The creators avoided complicated junctions in keeping with the simplicity and pureness of the materials."

WLC05

"The outer segments of a raw oak log are joined together with simple iron treads. Each position can be fixed manually by replacing the iron clamps, which were modeled on tools used in the timber industry to move logs with."

WLC06

"While out of order, the chair can be completely closed, resembling an ordinary log."
