McDonald's Full Menu Explorer

All my faves on one page.

Be still my heart.

If I keep eating there as often as I do that moment's gonna come sooner rather than later.

Now where'd I put my Filet-O-Fish?

Sheffield Kevlar Shears — "The final word in household & industrial scissors"

From the website:

Made in the legendary steel town of Sheffield, England by 11th generation scissor makers, originally designed for industrial use — specifically to cut through Kevlar — these shears are awe inspiring.

No matter the material you cut — be it packing tape, fabric, cardboard, or a bolt of ballistic nylon — you'll feel an uncanny sense of ease, and left to wonder how you managed life without them.

These shears are the perfect household and workshop tool: heavy, indestructible, extremely sharp, and non-stick (tapes and adhesives won't gum them up).

When I get big — real big — I'm getting a pair of these for Flautist, scissors enthusiast extraordinaire.

The New Yorker (Now Using Apple Maps)

A wonderfully whimsical cover riffing off Saul Steinberg's classic March 29, 1976 cover (below)

Back-of-Hand Soap Dispenser

Screen Shot 2013-07-30 at 9.00.20 PM

What took so long?

Especially after reading a couple weeks ago that a prominent microbiologist, after publishing a paper documenting the prevalence of potentially dangerous organisms on the palmar surfaces of hands and their relative dearth on the back of hands, no longer shakes hands but, rather, uses a fist bump.

Me too.

But I digress.

From The Green Head:

After handling raw meat and poultry, jalapeños, dirt, things and areas in the bathroom, zombie viruses, or any other gross thing you wouldn't want to spread around, wash your hands with soap dispensed from innovative container, which lets you use the back of your hand to press down and dispense in a more hygienic manner.

It features a nonslip base to make it easier to use one-handed, a handy soap-level indicator window on the reverse side, and a wide-opening for easy refills.

Catme 13/Glass Effect 26 — Fresh Reuben sandwich at Whole Foods: irresistible? (almost)

Above, what happened around lunch time yesterday when I stopped by Whole Foods on my way home from the dentist's office.

A close encounter of the best kind.
