Experts' Expert: Flautist on optimum cat litter depth

Why should you take her word for it?

Because I say so.

From the Georgia-based artist-cat person extraordinaire, this response to my recent question about cat box litter management.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

You asked me... about what I thought optimum litter depth is: I would say 2" is just about perfect, and certainly no less than 1.5". Too little and poops don't get covered by power-scratchers (like Laurie, who moves all the litter in the box over his one poop) and too much just gets even more litter kicked out the entrance hole onto the floor.

Answer here this time tomorrow.

Hint: smaller than a bread box.

Another: battery-powered.

A third: comes in colors.

Above, the message you get when you click on an Unlisted YouTube video.

I prefer to make my non-Public videos Unlisted rather than Private simply because it's easier for those whom I wish to share them with to see them.

There is so much fantastic stuff on YouTube hiding in plain sight — but you have to know the person with the safe deposit box key to look inside.

bookofjoe''s Favorite Thing: Extra-Large Big-Digit Timer

81rphMGLCBL._SL1500_

I have a thing about timers.

The only time I use one is in the morning, to measure the three (3) minutes I like my tea to steep.

But that's an important three minutes because a.) I'm kind of sluggish and groggy, having just woken up, and b.) as a result I don't really have the energy or inclination to screw around trying to set the duration and turn on the countdown alarm and all.

This one, which I happened on in a long troll through Amazon's timers last month, is fo shizzle.

From the website:
