bookofjoe's Favorite Thing: Cordless Digital Alarm Clock

What I like about this clock:

1) Cordless — great for travel

2) Directions printed on the bottom

3) Three brightness levels selectable

4) Wonderful right angle parallelepiped shape

5) Large, easy-to-read digits (1.4" or 1.8" high)

6) Matte black the way a bedroom clock should be

7) Cordless (it's surprisingly hard to find a large-digit cordless alarm clock)

8) Clock can be set to automatically switch to Night Mode and dim from 8:00pm-6:00am

9) Ultra-low power consumption — clock said to work over one year on a set of alkaline batteries

10) You can start/stop the flashing dots that almost always are a default setting on these types of clocks

11) The red digits don't reset your brain/body clock if you check the time while you lie there unable to fall asleep

12) Runs on 2 regular D cell batteries rather than some idiotstick weird-size button cells you'll never be able to find to replace

13) It passed the drop test. The drop test is how we evaluate whether anesthesia equipment is suitable for daily OR use: you simply drop the device from the height of an anesthesia machine or cart onto the hard OR floor and see if it still works. This clock has inadvertently hit the deck — a hardwood oak floor — at least three times from three feet up and never lost a second or cracked or had anything come loose inside.

Wow, in that one picture there it looks HUGE! About the size of a loaf of Sunbeam Old-Fashioned White bread!
