"For there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so"

The profound and useful truth of this line from "Hamlet," spoken by him in Act 2, Scene 2, cannot be overstated.

As I get older I am increasingly appreciative that something I thought was a disaster or setback turned into huge positive as time passed.

How many things I've regretted doing or not doing what later turned out just the opposite of what I thought was the case at the time.

Every decade or so I reread Tom Stoppard's 1966 play "Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead," my all-time favorite.
