Let us now praise "Bron" on Hulu

"Bron" — Swedish for "The Bridge" — is a Swedish/Danish co-production thriller TV series that was a huge hit from the get-go after it premiered there in 2011.

Four seasons exist, all now on Hulu.

There's also an English-language adaptation called "The Bridge," which premiered in 2013;

two seasons exist.

IMHO this version is even better, because the English-language cast is much stronger, though the Swedish lead, Sofia Helin, is herself magnificent and makes that iteration well worth watching.

But I digress.

I was about to begin watching "Bron" last week, having viewed both seasons of "The Bridge" on Apple TV for $9.99 apiece.

Right before I bought "Bron" Season 1 on Apple for $23.99 (seasons 2 & 3 also cost $23.99 apiece; Season 4's not yet available there), I checked Hulu — where I pay $11.99/month with my first month, which expires August 20, free —

to see if by chance "Bron" might be available there as well.

It sure was/is.

Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 were/are all there (38 episodes), ready for watching as part of my subscription which you will recall is free for the first month.

Here's my advice should you want to get something really good for nothing:

1) subscribe to Hulu now and get your first month free

2) binge watch all 38 episodes of "Bron"

3) cancel Hulu

You just got nearly $100 worth of premium viewing (on Apple TV) for free.

Who say's there's no such thing as a free lunch?

That's "free" — as in free, the way we like it.

[A nod here to Pippi Heavey, my Crack Research Team©® Swedish correspondent, who tipped me of as to how good "Bron" is]

MagSafe goes mega — Fanboy must-have

Be still my heart.

From the website:

As cool as USB-C is, many of us were sad when Apple killed off MagSafe, which has undoubtedly saved the lives of countless laptops over the years.

That disappointment led us to a key insight: Why not place the magnetic breakaway connection at the outlet?

Tug works with any power cord you might trip on.

It also works as a quick switch: just tug to turn off a lamp or vacuum.
