"Bodyguard"

A new British six-part series just up on Netflix that was a smash hit in England.

I watched Episode 1 Wednesday and 2/3/4 last night — riveting.

It was all I could do to turn off the TV at 11:30 p.m. and save the final two episodes for tonight.

Highest possible recommendation.

Comcast Gigabit Cable

Hi-speed-Internet-Dude-598x243

Last week I read in Ars Technica about how Comcast is moving ahead fast with its gigabit cable initiative, now rolling out in 39 states including "nearly all of the 58 million homes and businesses in the company's U.S. territory."

C3

The price: $104.95-$139.95/month with a surcharge for over 1TB of data.

I had no idea how much data I use monthly so I drilled down

Comcast1

and saw that I'll have no problem with that 1TB cap.

I'm fine with my current speeds: I get 330 down and 12 up which is more than fast enough for creating bookofjoe and watching sports and movies.

I had no idea what I'm paying for internet + TV — I mean, I know my monthly Comcast bill is $217.68 but what portion of that is service and what part taxes and fees and whatnot I'm in the dark about.

I found my most recent bill and learned I'm paying $165.17 for 250MPS internet + 220+ TV channels, some kind of combination plan that doesn't separate out costs for internet and TV.

It's nice that I get 330/12 when I'm paying for 250/10: good on Comcast.

I'll happily sign up for gigabit the day it's available: I like speed.

I'm in love with Dark Mode

Mojave1

after updating to macOS 10.14 Mojave a couple days ago.

From the moment I clicked on Dark Mode I've been in another, better virtual world.

So beautiful.

Apple doing what it does best, like no other.

One strange thing: Dark Mode looks much better with Chrome than Safari.

And how about my Crack Germany Correspondent©®, Rattlesnake Jake, making his first ever appearance in the main event?

w00t!

McLaren Speedtail is here

Limited edition of 106.

Capable of 250mph.

Can they build one for you?

No — they're all pre-sold: $2.6 million puts some fortunate peeps in the driver's seat.

But I'm sure if you ask nicely and present a fat check for perhaps twice that, one of the select few will part with her or his baby.
