99 million-year-old snail preserved in amber

Paleontologist Jeffrey Stilwell of Monash University in Australia calls it "the first and oldest preserved soft tissue of a snail in the fossil record from the mid-Cretaceous of Myanmar."

The discovery was reported in the journal Cretaceous Research.
