Just now I had a look at the System Preferences panel (above) on my Mac.

I've had my machine, a mid-2012 15" MacBook Pro with Retina display, for over six years with nary a glitch.

Stuff I've never used and never will:

• Mission Control

• Spotlight

• Notifications

• Time Machine
