bookofjoe's Favorite Thing: CB's Nuts Robust Roasted Peanuts

You know how once in a while, while eating salted-in-the-shell peanuts, you get one that's markedly darker and smaller than the rest?

And how that peanut tastes deeper and more peanut-y than the others?

Well, guess what?

My CrackResearch Team©® woke up for a few minutes from its baseline state of collective stupor and brought back news of these wonderful peanuts, each and every one of which is dark, with colors ranging from dulce de leche caramel to near black.

And the taste: you must be a limousine!*

Wait a sec, joe.

No matter.

From the back of the bag:

We get the freshest U.S.A.-grown peanuts, roast them in small batches using our antique barrel roaster, and deliver them fresh.

Our flame-fired barrel roaster's constant rotation and lower temperature ensures each peanut is evenly roasted.

This slow and low technique sets us apart from the industry, for which a quick, hot roast on a conveyor is standard.

We find that our minimal processing and attention to each small batch allows the peanut to reach its delicious potential.

I won't argue.

12 oz. bag: $4.99.

So good, they're cheap at twice that price.

P.S. My favorite regular roast salted-in-the-shell peanuts are those made by Virginia Diner.

P.P.S. Pro tip: peanuts should be kept refrigerated when not being eaten.

*Wait a sec — what's that music I'm hearing?

Whenever hearing of peanuts, I cannot help thinking of one of my favourite jokes, which I heard in a Monty Python sketch maybe ten years ago.

Two peanuts were walking down the street. One was assaulted

I imagine it’s quite well known among native English speakers, at least among ones with the same dreadful sense of humour as myself.

Jeez, now I'm wanting peanuts.

Many years ago we settled on these as the best peanut available. We get them by mail order from North Carolina to Pennsylvania every once in a while. The Country Style are our favorites.
