Warnock's Dilemma: Five explanations for lack of response to internet posts

6a00d8341c5dea53ef022ad3c488c2200b-600wi

• The post is correct, well-written information that needs no follow-up commentary. There's nothing more to say except "Yeah, what he said."

• The post is complete and utter nonsense, and no one wants to waste the energy or bandwidth to even point this out.

• No one read the post, for whatever reason.

• No one understood the post, but they won't ask for clarification, for whatever reason.

• No one cares about the post, for whatever reason.

In my case, it's usually a combination of the above and, on rare occasions, all of them.

My favorite posts are the ones that are complete and utter nonsense because that'll make my comments fit perfectly.

I often try to respond, but get the dreaded “oops”. I always care what you have to say.

I only respond to annoy you.
