"American Odyssey"

How is it that only now am I discovering this superb 13-episode series on Netflix?

Even so, I never would have known it existed save for Netflix's superb suggestion AI, which is so much better than Apple TV's Genius function which tries — and fails — to do the same thing.

Anna Friel is excellent as the driving character in a story set in North Africa and New York City.

Unlike previous series I've watched, this one is so intense that I limit my viewing to 1-2 episodes per day; as a rule, I watch 3-4 at a sitting when I'm binging.

The series premiered on NBC in 2015 and was cancelled after one season.

Alas, in this one the company, Expert Insight, crashed and burned a few months after they signed me on.

A nice list by Tim Sommer.

Fair warning: if something can go wrong, it will.

bookofjoeTV stands on the shoulders of JenniCam

Nineteen-year-old Dickinson College junior Jennifer Ringley went live with JenniCam on April 3, 1996.

You could look it up.

Next month marks the 23rd anniversary of that momentous day, which opened the door to today's livestreams and whatnot.

I pay my respects to the bold Ms. Ringley, who now at age 42 lives quietly in a secure, undisclosed location.

IllumiNITE sportswear

This pretty much under the radar company makes wonderful stuff.

They specialize in reflective clothing.

Above and below, exemplars.

I bought one of their ultra-light shells a long time ago, 15-20 years would be my best guess.

It's still as good as ever, über-reflective at night and nice looking during the day.

It's been through a lot and you wouldn't know it by looking at it.

Highly recommended.
