Ever visit my Etsy store?

Screen Shot 2019-03-08 at 8.33.55 AM

Me neither.

In fact, I didn't even know I had one till I happened to notice an alert up top while I was browsing Etsy.

It appears that I created it on April 4, 2009 — why, my 10-year anniversary is just around the corner.

I've already got five followers: at this rate, I'll have 100 around 2070 — w00t!

Maybe I'll start selling stuff on my kewl store — stay tuned.

CALLBACK — Aviation Safety Reporting System (How do you spell 737 Max?)

Screen Shot 2019-03-04 at 6.29.54 PM

If you aren't scared of flying now, you might become so after reading CALLBACK, the monthly aviation safety newsletter, "which includes de-identified ASRS report excerpts with supporting commentary in a popular 'lessons learned' format."

It's sort of like Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) conferences held on a weekly basis by hospital departments except that in those, not only are the doctors involved not "de-identified," they're also put on the spot and zeroed in on for their misdeeds and mistakes.

Been there done that and trust me when I tell you it's not fun.

CALLBACK is free, the way we like it.

bookofjoe's Favorite Thing: ChaCha Coconut Flavor Sunflower Seeds

I've been a sunflower seed aficionado since forever.

For a long time my seed of choice was David, but then about a decade ago I happened on ChaCha, China's #1 brand.

The Spiced Flavor

in the red bag

was my go-to seed until about a month ago, when I saw a rave review of ChaCha's Coconut Flavor.

Up to then I hadn't a clue they existed.

The bar has been raised by a lot with these: they're even better than the excellent Spiced Flavor.

ChaCha's seeds are much bigger than the chintzelberry ones sold by David, Frito-Lay, and Planters, and they're far crispier and fresher as well.

That's even before the excellent, subtle flavors.

Six 8.82 oz. (250 g) green bags will set you back $23.99.
