Alternative Musical Keyboard

I've played with a few of these layouts. The big idea behind these is that they are easier to transpose and for novices to learn. I saw a few retrofits of other keyboards -- someone had a Kurzweil K2500 a decade ago in the Janko style and I thought it was horrendous! But he swore by it and mentioned that it was a lot more manageable for folks that played accordion music...the kind with the hex buttons and all that.

Personally, I thought it was a cool idea but I couldn't get into it. Give me the standard piano layout because it makes perfect sense. Then again, I'm also the dude that had a few dozen guitars in alternative tunings -- often tuned for a specific song -- or at the very least so that it was consistent across the board without that stupid unintuitive 5th string that is (4,4,4,4,M3,4)...and then just set it up in 5ths the way most concert strings are!

Yeah...lots of warped necks that way.
