A great April 10 BuzzFeed story by Katie Notopoulos lifted up one of the many rocks in the Facebook garden: what came to light wasn't pretty.

Read it, then follow her instructions to take a trip down the rabbit hole wherein resides "all your data are belong to us."

This kind of stuff really rankles me. It may not make much difference in the sum of things, but I never click an ad in Facebook. On the rare occasion they show me something that actually interests me, I leave Facebook and search for the company/product in a new browser tab.

Am I hurting Facebook or their advertisers? Probably not much. But *I* feel better.
