Does heavy water taste different than regular water?

After watching "The Heavy Water War," the question up top popped into my pea-brain-housed mind the other day.

I told my Crack Research Team©® to drop everything — which as a rule consists of doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before — to find the answer.

It only took them two days to unearth the publication pictured up top, published in Science in 1935.

FunFact: H.C. Urey (April 29, 1893-January 5, 1981), one of the authors of the above-cited report, was an American physical chemist whose pioneering work on isotopes earned him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1934 for the discovery of deuterium. Heavy water is a form of water that contains a larger than normal amount of the hydrogen isotope deuterium rather than the common hydrogen-1 isotope.

Thames Barrier — One of the seven wonders of the modern world?

You be the judge.

The flood barrier was completed in 1982.

Up top, a time-lapse video of it in action.

Pay particular attention to the park in the foreground.

Below,

how it works.
