Where to go if a sudden global pandemic hits

Screen Shot 2019-10-06 at 4.41.11 PM

"The island nations of Australia followed by New Zealand and Iceland appear most likely to have the features required to act as an effective refuge from which large-scale technological society can be successfully rebuilt after a catastrophic global pandemic."

Prince Harry wears Hugo Boss

I wonder how much the photo above, which appeared in Saturday's New York Times, is worth in terms of advertising to Boss.

Quite a lot, I'm thinking.

Google now comes in °Kelvin

Screen Shot 2019-10-05 at 6.36.07 AM

This past Saturday I noticed that the local weather forecast on my Google homepage (above) featured — along with the usual choice of Fahrenheit and Celsius — degrees Kelvin.

I haven't dealt with temperatures in Kelvin since college physics and chemistry.

Way Kool.

Try it, you might find it refreshing.

As I recall, degrees Kelvin were always used when dealing with low-temperature physics, where superconductivity happens and helium becomes a superfluid that can climb up and out of containers (below),

among other strange things.

Bose-Einstein condensate, that's the ticket.
