Helpful Hints from joeeze: Never listen to a single word of a commercial again

If you find it annoying — as did I before I twigged — to have to listen to the first few seconds of commercials before muting them, your ship has come in (to mix a metaphor).

When you hear background music start while the announcer's talking, know that a commercial's imminent, and press mute.

Easy peasy.

Better Still: D.V.R.
Changed. My. Life.
I just about never watch any live TV. And I am an expert at zapping the commercials hidden in the shows while playing them back. Plus Pause. And Rewind. And synched between rooms. Awesome power. Really wrings the most value out of cable TV.
