"Search millions of photographs from the LIFE photo archive, stretching from the 1750s to today. Most were never published and are now available for the first time through the joint work of LIFE and Google."

There goes the day.

The search capabilities are not great for this, and the site does not list the keywords that produce hits on each photo.

My test for this was that my dad was in Life in 1946. I have a copy. But I could not find it in this archive.

The thing is, the archive only yields 74 images when you use 1946 as a keyword. This seems way too small. But it suggests to me that not all images from 1946 are actually tagged with that keyword. I tried other keywords, and got strangely limited results too.
