I want to meet the person who did this

Well, not this ... but still informative.

Back in the 90's we met the guy who was acclaimed as having invented the idea of folding cloth or paper into decorative drip rings for wine bottles. He was working as a top level banquet server at the Fairmont Hotel: the sort of guy in the South that someone might request because he's served your family for generations.

We were late customers closing down the place in mid-afternoon after a holiday brunch. We commented on the folding we saw at one of the fancier tables. Our server offered to go get the man that did them. He was more than happy to show us some tricks (one simple one I still stun houseguests with), and regale us with stories of all the big name TV talk shows he'd made appearances on since the 70's.
