"My First Boat"


Bob Mankoff named this one of his all-time 11 favorite New Yorker cartoons, wryly noting, "You can't go wrong with stupidity. When in doubt, make fun of an idiot." He relented: "But this is done in a lovely way. The guy who's doing this stuff is dumb, but the cartoon is clever."

Jack Ziegler's cartoon appeared in the July 11, 1988 issue.
