The fan noise from my MacBook Air is a feature, not a bug

The penny just dropped a second ago while I was sitting here with Gray Cat doing something close to nothing (but different than the day before).

For years I've read harsh reviews and complaints about fan noise from computers, and I've never really paid much attention to them/it.

Listening closely to my (mid-2011) MacBook Air's cooling fan, I realized it sounds very much like the white noise machine in my psychiatrist's office.

What's not to like about that?

Who knew Apple made a psychiatry Easter egg?

Sure beats paying $150 an hour.

Listen to the video up top and hear what I'm hearing.

Soothing, what?
